The Great Principle of Judaism
Christianity has established "Love your neighbour as yourself" from Leviticus 19:18 as the essence of Torah. Jewish texts are more nuanced, suggesting other texts which capture the essence of Torah. This session will examine the various choices presented in the Talmud and Midrash. It will also examine the weaknesses and strengths of the choices thus presented especially in the context of modernity.
